Alberta Auto Insurance

Additional Coverages Available in Alberta

We have explained vehicle insurance and licensing using clean and simple language. Where words or expressions used here differ from the wording of the Canadian Direct Insurance policy, the Canadian Direct Insurance policy wording will prevail.

Loss of Use

If your vehicle is stolen or disabled due to a loss under your Collision or Comprehensive coverages, Canadian Direct Insurance pays for the reasonable costs of a rental vehicle.

Replacement Cost Coverage

This protects you against depreciation during the first three years of your vehicle's life. Canadian Direct Insurance makes repairs using new parts or if the cost of repairs exceeds its value, replaces your vehicle with a current make and model.

Legal Liability for Damage to Non-Owned Autos

This insurance covers you against damage to a vehicle rented in Canada or the United States. This means you don't have to buy that insurance from the rental agency.

Family Protection Endorsement

If you are injured or suffer losses and cannot recover those losses because the other driver does not have as much liability insurance as you do, this coverage lets you claim the balance from Canadian Direct Insurance.

Travel Protection

If your vehicle is stolen or you have an accident while travelling away from home, Canadian Direct Insurance will repay towing costs, rental of a replacement vehicle, additional living expenses and the costs of getting you and your vehicle home again, subject to the limits in the policy.

Our advisors may have offered these coverages to you when you first called us. If any of them are of interest to you, and you would like to have them explained further, please call our toll-free number.
