Legislation in both the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta require the holders of unclaimed property to make reasonable efforts to locate and notify the rightful owners. For cases where an owner cannot be located or receive notice, CDI maintains a database that is accessible to the public to help facilitate the return of property.
The unclaimed property held by CDI consists of insurance policy premium refunds and claims payments that have been returned as undelivered or have remained un-cashed. If you think you may be the owner of unclaimed property being held by CDI, please search our database: Unclaimed Property Search
