Home Insurance

What is homeowners insurance?

Homeowners insurance provides coverage for your home, garage, shed, other out-buildings, and your personal property. It may also provide financial protection or liability coverage in case you unintentionally injure someone or damage someone’s property.

Why do I need homeowners insurance?

Likely the largest single investment you will make will be the purchase of your home. Making sure you have the right insurance will help give you peace of mind that your investment is protected!

Homeowner policies with Canadian Direct Insurance are provided on a Guaranteed Replacement Cost basis. This means that in the event of an insured loss your home will be repaired or rebuilt regardless of cost.

While your home is being repaired your policy will provide you with Additional Living Expenses to cover the cost of temporary accommodation while your claim is being settled.

Every Canadian Direct Insurance Homeowners package also includes Liability coverage to protect you if you accidentally injure someone or cause property damage. Our Liability Insurance covers you anywhere in the world! We will also defend lawsuits brought against you alleging negligence on your part.

Your mortgage company may require you to have homeowners insurance.

Note: Your coverage for any claim will be governed only by the policy wording itself and not by this webpage.
